In The Past Week: Obituaries
So what...? It started with
Ed McMahon - For those of you who don't know who he is...was that deep voiced announcer from the Late Night Show, Johnny Carson's sidekick. Only reason I know that is because of my father. June 23, 2009
Farrah Fawcett - Sex symbol in 70's and 80's, a big pop culture figure, and an angel(literally)...she was a Charlie's Angel. I guess Megan Fox is (ridiculously) taking over her position as sex symbol in the present. I have no reason why... June 25, 2009
Michael Jackson - oh gosh, where do I start? Greatest American singer/songwriter (in my opinion) that ever lived. I could probably list every song he recorded right now but then this post would be way too long. Spent the whole week listening to his music. Watched Moonwalker, rewatched "Living with Michael Jackson" and shouted at the screen that Bashir is a total jerk and a pathetic loser, and laughed at all the fun moments (seriously some of these moments could go on AFV) in his private home videos that he released. Also watched, his short film/MV "Ghosts", "Bad". All I have to say is that this man was a total genius. Although, I do wish he stayed with his 26 or 29 year old face. That age was a period of pure hotness. June 25, 2009
Ok...On with others.
Billy Mays - I assure you everyone in this nation has either seen one of his sales pitches or heard his terribly loud voice. He was known for it. My father and I always crack jokes of his loud voice when he shows up on TV yelling at us to buy OxyClean. June 28, 2009
Last but not least:
Karl Malden - I know him from "A Streetcar Named Desire". After I saw (and read) "The Glass Menagerie", I wanted to see the other movie based on Williams' books. So this was first choice. Also I remember him from a certain American Express commercial. July 1, 2009
RIP to all of these greats. No offense to the others, but I will miss MJ the most because I spent half of my being a 12 year old listening to his music.
But wait... I just find this a little creepy but one of the passengers who missed the AirFrance 447 flight, that crashed, died in a car crash... That's just sad. You're happy and so excited in gratitude that you're alive, and you die because an idiot crashed into you, or your idiot self crashed into someone else, I don't know.
